Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) – Wisconsin Travel Nursing Contract

Join a collaborative perioperative team as an experienced Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin. Travel Nurse Job Details

  • Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,370–$2,500
  • Location: Oconomowoc, Wisconsin

  • Schedule: Rotating day shifts, typically 6:30 a.m.–3:00 p.m. or 6:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m.

  • Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week, excluding applicable orientation and facility-closure exceptions
  • Call Requirements: One weekday overnight call per week and one weekend call period approximately every six weeks
  • Charting: Current Epic experience within the last six months

Operating Room RN Job Requirements

  • Active Wisconsin Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • Associate degree or nursing certificate required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
  • At least 2 years of recent Operating Room RN experience required
  • Previous travel nursing or travel contract experience preferred
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred
  • Experience working across multiple surgical service lines in a full-service operating room
  • Current COVID-19 vaccination required unless a qualifying medical or religious exemption applies
  • Strong communication skills, resilience, adaptability, and the ability to remain composed in emergency situations

Operating Room Nurse Responsibilities

  • Provide safe, effective perioperative nursing care for orthopedic, medical-surgical, obstetric, inpatient, and outpatient procedures
  • Serve as a circulating nurse for a variety of surgical cases, including C-sections
  • Support a high-volume orthopedic service line, including total hip and knee procedures
  • Demonstrate proficiency with the orthopedic Hana table and related surgical equipment
  • Assist with cataract procedures and other specialty surgeries as assigned
  • Perform charge nurse responsibilities when needed and help coordinate daily operating room activity
  • Respond effectively to urgent and emergency surgical situations while maintaining patient safety standards
  • Participate in scheduled call coverage and provide continuity of care during after-hours cases
  • Float to nearby clinical locations or units based on census and operational needs, within appropriate clinical competencies
  • Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia professionals, nurses, and surgical technicians to promote efficient patient flow and excellent patient outcomes
