Job Details – OR RN / Travel Nurse

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $3,000 - $3,160
• Location: Hyannis, Massachusetts (02601) — Cape Cod travel nurse opportunity
• Setting: Operating Room (OR) – Hospital (perioperative nursing)
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks (April 20, 2026 – July 18, 2026)
• Hours: 40 hours per week
• Shift: 10-hour day shifts (9:00am – 7:30pm)
• Guaranteed Hours: 40 per week
• On-Call: No call or weekends on first contract; one weekend shift with 8 hours of backup call on second contract

OR Registered Nurse Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (BSN preferred)
• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Minimum 1 year of Operating Room (OR) / perioperative nursing experience
• Experience in scrub and/or circulating roles preferred
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
• Use of lead apron required
• Submission of two professional references within the past two years
• Skills checklist and competency exam completed within the past 6 months

Operating Room RN Responsibilities (Perioperative Nurse)

• Provide high-quality perioperative patient care using the nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
• Administer and monitor patient responses to medications and anesthesia-related care per hospital policy
• Perform scrub and circulating duties as required; assist surgical team and anesthesia providers
• Direct and guide patient care, teach patients and families, and coordinate activities of ancillary personnel
• Maintain accurate, current patient records and document assessments throughout the admission
• Initiate and communicate plan of care with interdisciplinary patient care providers
• Demonstrate proficiency as charge nurse and with computerized nursing informatics systems
• Serve as a clinical resource for patient care, orientation, and staff education
• Participate in quality improvement and evaluation of perioperative patient care
• Adhere to safety, aseptic technique, and blood/body fluid policies and procedures
• Assist in daily operating activities of the OR with Nurse Manager and Department of Anesthesia
• Supervise personnel when assigned and maintain a safe environment for patients and staff
• Assist in staff development, education, and identification of unit needs
• Control and maintain supplies, equipment, and medications for efficient OR operation
• Represent the hospital professionally within the community and maintain patient confidentiality
