  • Orientation: 3–5 days (8-hour shifts) with educator and preceptor support

Compensation

  • Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,000–$2,100/week

Operating Room RN Requirements

  • Experience: Minimum 1 year of recent Operating Room (OR) Registered Nurse experience required (3+ years preferred for first-time travel nurses)
  • Robotics: DaVinci XI experience required
  • Charting: Epic experience required
  • Skills: Strong sterile technique, patient safety mindset, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced OR across multiple specialties

Key Responsibilities (Perioperative Nursing)

  • Provide safe, high-quality perioperative nursing care across pre-op, intra-op, and immediate post-op phases as assigned
  • Circulate for a variety of procedures with emphasis on patient advocacy, positioning, skin integrity, and time-out compliance
  • Support a high-volume surgical schedule (approximately 20–23 cases/day) while maintaining accuracy, efficiency, and infection prevention standards
  • Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia, surgical technologists, and support staff to ensure smooth room turnover and case flow
  • Assist with setup and troubleshooting of OR equipment and supplies (including coordination for C-arm setup as needed)
  • Document care and perioperative events accurately in Epic
  • Participate in shared call rotation for evenings, weekends, and holidays per department needs
  • Float to inpatient areas if low census

Clinical Focus (Case Mix & Technology)

  • Common Case Mix: Orthopedics, GYN, General Surgery
  • Additional Procedures: Bariatrics (robotic/laparoscopic), Plastics, Urology (TURPs, cystoscopy, aquablation)
  • Technology: DaVinci XI; Stryker Mako (joint replacement—knee primarily)
  • Note: No neuro, no complicated spine, and no baby deliveries
