Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Minimum 1 year of current acute care hospital orthopedic nursing experience required
- BLS certification required
- Orthopedic nursing experience or trauma nursing experience preferred
- Medical-surgical nursing experience welcomed
- Strong communication skills and a flexible, collaborative attitude
Responsibilities
- Provide safe, compassionate patient care in an acute care orthopedic unit
- Monitor and support patients with drains, wound vacs, PCA therapy, Foley catheters, and mobility needs
- Collaborate with charge nurses, patient care technicians, and interdisciplinary healthcare team members to support quality outcomes
- Assist with common orthopedic unit procedures, including drain removal and coordination of PICC line placements with the infusion team
- Deliver thorough assessments, accurate clinical documentation, and timely interventions throughout the night shift
- Promote a positive patient experience while maintaining efficient, high-quality nursing care
