• Position: Travel Orthopedic Registered Nurse (Orthopedic RN)
• Location: Springfield, IL 62769 — Central Illinois nursing job in a community hospital setting
• Contract Type: Travel (13 weeks)
• Start Date: March 16, 2026
• End Date: June 14, 2026
• Unit: Orthopedics (Med/Surg specialty)
• Shift: 12-hour Nights (NOC); every other weekend required
• Hours per Week: 36
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,980 - $2,080

Required Qualifications

• Active Illinois RN license (must be in hand at time of submission)
• Minimum 1 year of recent orthopedic nursing experience required (orthopedics or ortho/trauma preferred)
• Current BLS (AHA) and NIHSS certifications
• Ability to pass a dysrhythmia exam (two attempts permitted)
• Requested time off must be submitted with your application

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, compassionate orthopedic nursing care to post-operative and Med/Surg patients during the night shift
• Perform focused assessments, monitor patient status, and document interventions and outcomes per orthopedics protocols
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and pain management treatments according to provider orders
• Support patient mobility, post-op recovery, wound care, and fall prevention for orthopedic patients
• Educate patients and families on care plans, discharge instructions, and home safety following orthopedic procedures
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams—surgeons, PT/OT, case management—to ensure coordinated patient care
