- Contract Duration: 13 weeks
- Shift Duration: 12-hour day shifts
- Schedule: Variable 3x12 schedule with start times that may include 7:00 AM, 8:00 AM, 9:00 AM, 10:00 AM, or 11:00 AM
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,160 - $2,270
- On-Call: Required, approximately 1 call shift per week
- Float: May float within scope to meet facility needs
- Charting: Epic experience preferred
- First-Time Travelers: Accepted
Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license required; Alaska RN license must be in hand for consideration
- At least 1 year of PACU nursing experience or relevant acute care nursing experience required
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS required
- Experience with Phase I PACU skills preferred
- Strong background in post-anesthesia recovery, patient monitoring, and rapid clinical assessment
- Ability to manage variable patient acuity across adult and pediatric patient populations
- Comfortable working in a team-oriented, fast-moving hospital environment
- Must be able to respond to call assignments within 30 minutes
Responsibilities
- Provide safe, high-quality recovery care for patients emerging from anesthesia
- Monitor vital signs, pain levels, airway status, and overall post-op stability
- Support conscious sedation, pain management, and PACU recovery protocols
- Administer and titrate medications as appropriate within scope and policy
- Recognize and respond quickly to changes in patient condition
- Collaborate with surgical, anesthesia, and interdisciplinary healthcare team members
- Prepare patients for transfer to the next level of care
- Maintain accurate documentation and communicate clearly during handoff
- Participate in call coverage and provide flexible support to unit needs
