Job Requirements
- Active Michigan RN license in hand at time of submission
- Minimum 2 years of PACU nursing experience, including care of ICU-level patients
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications required
- CAPA or CPAN certification preferred
- Epic charting experience preferred
- Strong background in pre-op, post-op, and post-anesthesia recovery care
- Ability to provide two manager or supervisor references
- Comfortable working 10-hour day shifts in a high-acuity recovery environment
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive PACU nursing care for patients recovering from surgical and interventional procedures
- Monitor airway status, vital signs, pain levels, and recovery progression in the post-anesthesia care unit
- Care for patients requiring advanced monitoring, including ICU-level recovery needs
- Administer medications, IV therapies, and ordered interventions in the recovery setting
- Assess and manage post-operative complications, including respiratory changes, hemodynamic instability, and pain control
- Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in Epic
- Educate patients and families on post-op recovery expectations and discharge instructions
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and interdisciplinary team members to support safe transitions of care
