Overview
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to provide exceptional post-anesthesia care for pediatric and adult patients. This PACU nursing job is ideal for an RN who thrives in a fast-paced recovery environment, values teamwork, and is confident managing a wide range of post-op procedures and recovery needs.
Job Details
- Position: PACU Registered Nurse
- Employment Type: Travel Nursing Assignment
- Location: Oregon City, OR 97045
- Schedule: Day shift, 4x10-hour shifts (7:00 AM - 5:30 PM)
- Duration: 13 weeks
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,280 - $2,400
- Patient Ratio: 1:2
- On-Call: Up to 100 hours per 4-week schedule
- Orientation: 20 hours
- Charting System: Epic
Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license in hand at submission
- Minimum of 1 year of PACU or ICU experience
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS required
- Strong experience with Epic or other electronic charting systems
- Comfortable caring for adolescents, adults, pediatrics, and geriatric patients
- Ability to work in a fast-paced recovery room environment and float based on unit needs
- Willingness to participate in on-call coverage and holiday rotation as scheduled
Responsibilities
- Provide safe, compassionate post-anesthesia nursing care for a diverse patient population
- Monitor and manage recovery from sedation, general anesthesia, local anesthesia, spinal, epidural, MAC, and nerve blocks
- Support airway management, pain control, dysrhythmia recognition, and hemodynamic monitoring
- Administer and monitor IV medications, blood products, and vasopressors per protocol
- Perform thorough assessments, discharge teaching, and follow-up coordination as appropriate
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to deliver efficient, high-quality acute care and patient-centered support
- Float to other units or nearby facilities as needed to support patient care needs
