Job Requirements

  • Active Registered Nurse license in hand at time of submission
  • Compact license required at submission
  • At least 1 year of PACU nursing experience required
  • Experience working in pre-op, post-op, and PACU required
  • Previous charge nurse experience required
  • Experience with Epic charting required
  • ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications required
  • Strong experience caring for adult and pediatric patients across perioperative phases
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced surgical recovery environment
  • Must be comfortable floating as needed within assigned perioperative areas

Responsibilities

  • Provide safe, compassionate nursing care to patients in the PACU and related perioperative units
  • Monitor recovery status, assess pain, manage symptoms, and support post-anesthesia stabilization
  • Care for patients recovering from a wide range of procedures, including general surgery, orthopedics, neuro, urology, vascular, GI, ENT, plastics, ophthalmology, and cath lab cases
  • Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and interdisciplinary care teams
  • Document assessments, interventions, and patient progress accurately in Epic
  • Educate patients and families on post-procedure recovery instructions and discharge expectations
  • Support safe admissions, transfers, and post-op recovery workflows
  • Maintain readiness for diverse PACU procedures and recovery needs
  • Deliver high-quality care while promoting efficiency, patient comfort, and excellent clinical outcomes
