Job Requirements
- 2 years of experience in a related nursing specialty required
- Current Texas RN license or compact state nursing license
- Current BLS certification (AHA only)
- Current ACLS certification (AHA only)
- Current PALS certification (AHA only)
- Critical Care, PreOp, and EPIC experience strongly preferred
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Ability to complete orientation, competency validation, and annual competency requirements
Responsibilities
- Provide independent, compassionate PACU nursing care to post-anesthesia patients
- Perform patient assessments, develop care plans, and evaluate outcomes
- Administer medications and treatments according to facility protocols
- Monitor patients for treatment effectiveness, complications, and side effects during recovery
- Document patient history, symptoms, medications, interventions, and care provided in EPIC or other EMR systems
- Educate patients, families, and caregivers on recovery needs, discharge instructions, and next steps
- Support a varied surgical population including general surgery, orthopedics, urology, ENT, cath lab, endoscopy, GYN, and pediatric cases
- Collaborate with physicians, anesthesiologists, and the healthcare team to ensure safe, efficient post-anesthesia recovery
