  • Floating: May float to ICU for stepdown-level patients; broader floating potential for candidates with ICU experience

Registered Nurse Job Requirements

  • Active RN license
  • Minimum 2 years of recent stepdown nursing experience in an acute care setting required
  • BLS (AHA), ACLS, and NIHSS required
  • Ability to read and interpret telemetry strips
  • Experience with cardiac and post-operative cardiovascular patients preferred
  • Comfort working in a high-volume, fast-turnover healthcare environment
  • Flexibility to work holidays as needed
  • Strong attendance, reliability, and time management

Responsibilities

  • Deliver comprehensive nursing care to progressive care and cardiac stepdown patients
  • Monitor telemetry and respond appropriately to changing patient conditions
  • Administer and titrate cardiac drips per protocol and patient needs
  • Care for patients recovering from CABG, vascular procedures, thoracic surgery, and other cardiovascular interventions
  • Support patients requiring noninvasive respiratory support such as BiPAP and CPAP
  • Collaborate with physicians, charge nurses, respiratory therapy, and the interdisciplinary care team
  • Manage admissions, discharges, and patient throughput efficiently during busy shifts
  • Provide safe, compassionate, and evidence-based care in a dynamic acute care setting
  • Assist with procedures and specialized patient needs as trained and appropriate
