PCU Float Registered Nurse (RN) – Night Shift Travel Nursing Contract in Wichita Falls, Texas

Travel Nursing Job Details

- Contract: 13 weeks, with potential consideration for a longer assignment
- Shift: Night shift, 7:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m.
- Schedule: Primarily three 12-hour shifts per week; scheduling may include four 12-hour shifts based on department needs
- Hours: Approximately 36 hours per week, with 84 hours scheduled biweekly and a 72-hour biweekly guarantee
- Float Requirement: Float between medical-surgical units and support higher-acuity patients as appropriate
- Orientation: 16 hours, including required modules
PCU Travel RN Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in hand before the start date
- At least 2 years of recent nursing experience
- Previous travel nursing experience required
- PCU and medical-surgical nursing experience required; experience supporting higher-acuity patients is strongly valued
- Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS credentials required for submission
- Current Nursys verification required for submission
- Epic electronic health record (EHR) experience strongly preferred
- Ability and willingness to float between medical-surgical units
- All requested time off must be submitted with the application or before accepting an offer
- Seasonal flu vaccination required; medical and religious exemptions may be considered
Registered Nurse Responsibilities
- Provide safe, evidence-based nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in PCU and medical-surgical settings
- Assess patient conditions, identify changes in status, and escalate concerns promptly
- Administer medications and treatments while monitoring patient responses
- Coordinate care with physicians, nursing colleagues, and interdisciplinary team members
- Float between medical-surgical units according to staffing and patient-care needs
- Support patients with varying levels of acuity while maintaining quality and safety standards
- Accurately document assessments, interventions, and outcomes in Epic when applicable
- Participate in handoff communication, patient education, discharge planning, and unit-based quality initiatives
