Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – PCU/Stepdown Float Pool | Columbus, OH (43210)
Travel RN – Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Float Pool in Columbus, OH. 13-week travel nursing contract for experienced PCU/Stepdown RNs with EPIC charting, ACLS/BLS, telemetry monitoring, and IV skills.

- Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,940 – $2,040 (competitive travel RN pay)
- Shift: 3x12-hour day shifts (07:00 – 19:30)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Healthcare Setting: Progressive Care Unit (PCU) / Stepdown; PCU Float Pool – may float to any stepdown/PCU area and other campuses (Ross Heart, Brain & Spine, Dodd)
Job Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of recent PCU/Stepdown RN experience (progressive care, telemetry, stepdown)
- Active RN license — compact or Ohio state license required at submission (Ohio travel nursing requirement)
- Graduation from an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited nursing program
- BLS and ACLS certifications required (telemetry/critical care skills)
- NIHSS certification preferred (stroke/neurology experience helpful)
- EPIC charting experience required (electronic medical record experience)
- IV start, central/PICC line care, telemetry rhythm interpretation, and phlebotomy skills required
- Ability to float to units of equivalent or lower acuity and to other hospital campuses as needed
- Two professional references required (one must be a manager, director, or formal leader)
- Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only); COVID-19 vaccine not required
Primary Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, compassionate nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in a PCU/stepdown setting (progressive care RN duties)
- Float between PCU and stepdown units, adapting to different patient populations and acuity levels as a PCU Float Pool RN
- Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry, manage IV therapies, and perform phlebotomy
- Administer blood products and manage central/PICC lines, tracheostomy care, and complex wound care
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including IV team, respiratory therapy, physical therapy, pharmacy, and social work
- Utilize EPIC for accurate, timely documentation and care coordination
- Participate in rapid response and code teams as needed
- Maintain compliance with hospital policies, infection control, and isolation precautions
