PCU Registered Nurse (RN) travel opportunity in Overland Park, KS 66213 — 13-week night contract (3x12). Join a Progressive Care Unit/Telemetry team providing high-quality clinical care in the Kansas City metro area.

Job Details

• Position: PCU Registered Nurse (RN) / Progressive Care Unit RN / Telemetry RN
• Location: Overland Park, KS 66213 (Kansas City metro)
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1920-$2020/week
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks (April 13, 2026 – July 13, 2026)
• Shift: Nights, 3x12-hour (18:45 – 07:15)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Employment Type: Travel Nurse / Travel RN
• Patient Ratio: 1:5
• Float Pool: Will float between Med/Surg Intermediate/PCU departments and other metro campuses as needed
• Weekend Requirement: Minimum of 8 weekend shifts every 6 weeks (Friday/Saturday/Sunday combination)

Qualifications & Certifications

• Minimum 2 years recent PCU, step-down, or specialty telemetry experience
• Active RN license in Kansas and Missouri or a compact (multi-state) nursing license
• BLS and NIHSS required; ACLS preferred
• Experience with Med/Surg Intermediate, Telemetry, Cardiac Telemetry, and Neuro Stepdown
• Proficiency in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation/management, pre/post cardiac cath care
• Clinical experience managing sepsis, wound care, renal failure, AFIB, GIB, stroke, and COVID patients
• Epic EMR experience preferred (Epic charting)
• Ability to float across units and metro campuses as needed
• References: 2 required (one supervisor-level or above, one charge RN), both within the past year
• Flu vaccine required (medical or religious exemptions accepted)

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, high-quality patient care in a Progressive Care Unit / Telemetry setting
• Monitor and manage patients with complex medical and cardiac conditions
• Interpret and respond to cardiac telemetry and dysrhythmias; perform 12-lead EKGs
• Provide wound care and support treatment for renal failure, AFIB, GIB, stroke, and COVID
• Float between Med/Surg Intermediate/PCU departments and other metro campuses as required
• Participate in holiday and charge RN assignments per unit needs
• Use Epic EMR for timely, accurate documentation
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams: IV Team, PT, Rapid Response, Pharmacy
• Perform specialty assessments and procedures (NIH Stroke Scale, AirVo, Voalte, Omnicell)
