Travel Pediatric Registered Nurse (RN) – Neuro/Orthopedic/Pediatric Unit in Marquette, MI
Join a collaborative inpatient nursing team as a Pediatric Registered Nurse (RN) on a 13-week travel nursing assignment in Marquette, Michigan. This on-site healthcare opportunity is ideal for an experienced RN with adult inpatient and pediatric nursing experience who enjoys caring for diverse patient populations, including neuro, orthopedic, trauma, and general pediatric patients. Marquette is a vibrant Upper Peninsula community known for Lake Superior, scenic outdoor recreation, and a welcoming small-city atmosphere.
Travel Nursing Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,160-$2,270
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks
- Start Date: September 20, 2026
- End Date: December 20, 2026
- Schedule: 36 guaranteed hours per week
- Shift Duration: 12-hour night shifts, approximately 7:00 PM-7:30 AM
- Weekend Requirement: 3 weekends every 6 weeks
- Call: None
- Unit: 24-bed Neuro/Orthopedic/Pediatric inpatient unit
- Patient Ratio: Approximately 1:6
- Patient Population: Patients of all ages older than 28 days, with an average of 0-3 pediatric rooms
- Float Requirement: May float to other inpatient units
- Location: Marquette, Michigan
Pediatric Registered Nurse Job Requirements
- Active Michigan RN license in good standing; must be licensed before the assignment begins
- At least 2 years of adult inpatient Registered Nurse experience
- Pediatric nursing experience preferred
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification preferred
- Ability to provide safe, compassionate, age-appropriate nursing care in a fast-paced inpatient environment
- Strong teamwork, communication, and interdisciplinary collaboration skills
Registered Nurse Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive inpatient nursing care for neuro, orthopedic, trauma, and pediatric patients
- Assess patient conditions, develop and implement individualized nursing care plans, and evaluate outcomes
- Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
- Monitor patients for changes in condition and promptly communicate concerns to the interdisciplinary healthcare team
- Support the care of post-operative orthopedic and neurologic patients
- Deliver age-appropriate care to pediatric patients and provide education and support to their families
- Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the electronic health record
- Collaborate with physicians, therapists, support staff, and families to promote positive patient outcomes
- Float to other inpatient units as needed while maintaining high standards of patient care
