Pediatric Registered Nurse (RN) – Acute Care Rehab/PCU | Travel Nurse | Little Rock, AR 72202
Travel Pediatric Registered Nurse (RN) – Little Rock, AR | 13-week Acute Care Rehab/Progressive Care Unit (PCU) travel nursing contract. Immediate opportunity for experienced pediatric RNs with ventilator and tracheostomy care skills.
Join a dynamic pediatric healthcare team in Little Rock, Arkansas, and provide specialized acute care to patients from birth through 21 years. This travel nursing assignment in Little Rock (zip code 72202) supports children with complex trauma, burn injuries, pulmonary disease, ventilator dependence, and post-surgical needs while offering exposure to a vibrant community and outdoor recreation along the Arkansas River.

- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,080 – $2,190 (competitive travel nursing pay)

- Orientation: 2–3 days with specialty testing
Qualifications / Job Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in acute care pediatrics or pediatric progressive/step-down settings
- Strong experience with ventilator and tracheostomy care (including ventilator and BiPAP management)
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license required (state-specific requirements apply)
- BLS and PALS certifications required
- CPN or CRRN preferred
- Proficiency with medication dispensing systems (Pyxis), peripheral and central IV therapies (CVL, PICC), and general pediatric medical-surgical skills
- Must test negative for nicotine and pass facility fit testing (no facial hair unless for documented religious beliefs)
- Energetic, flexible, and able to perform in high-stress, fast-paced clinical environments
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and patient/family education skills
- Willingness/ability to float to other pediatric units as needed
Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality nursing care to pediatric patients with complex needs, including trauma, burns, pulmonary disease, and post-operative recovery
- Manage ventilator-dependent and tracheostomy patients, including ventilator weaning protocols and respiratory support
- Administer peripheral and central IV therapies and manage central lines (CVL, PICC)
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary pediatric care team including RNs, MDs, Patient Care Technicians, Rehabilitation Therapists, Child Life & Education Specialists, Social Work, and Case Management
- Participate in patient and family education, including schooling support during prolonged hospitalizations
- Utilize EPIC EMR and Pyxis medication system for documentation and medication administration
- Adhere to facility policies, dress code, and scheduled shifts, including weekends and holidays as required
