Job Details – Pediatric RN / Travel Nurse

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,080 – $2,190 (competitive travel nurse pay)
• Location: Little Rock, AR 72202 — Little Rock healthcare / Arkansas nursing job
• Unit: 5D5E Acute Care Rehab / Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks (May 4, 2026 – August 3, 2026)
• Shift: 12-hour nights
• Hours per Week: 36
• Employment Type: Travel RN / Travel Nurse
• Patient Ratio: 1:3–4
• Floating: Required to all pediatric units (flexible pediatric RN)

Pediatric RN Qualifications / Requirements

• Minimum 2 years clinical experience in pediatric acute care, rehab, or progressive care (pediatric critical care experience a plus)
• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license (compact license or Arkansas RN license required per state rules)
• PALS and BLS (American Heart Association) certifications
• Strong experience with tracheostomy care and mechanical ventilation (invasive ventilator and non-invasive BiPAP)
• Skilled in peripheral and central IV therapies (CVL, PICC)
• Must test negative for nicotine and pass hospital fit test (facial hair exceptions for religious beliefs)
• Energetic, flexible, and able to manage patients with multiple complex needs
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and interdisciplinary collaboration skills
• Travel nursing experience preferred but not required
• CPN, CRRN certifications preferred (pediatric specialty and rehab nursing)

Responsibilities – Pediatric Registered Nurse

• Provide high-quality nursing care to pediatric patients (birth to 21 years) with head/spinal cord injuries, multiple trauma, burns, and pulmonary disease
• Manage tracheostomy care and ventilator support (invasive and non-invasive), including ventilator weaning protocols when appropriate
• Administer and monitor peripheral and central IV therapies, meds, and blood products
• Care for post-trauma and burn surgery patients, including complex dressing and graft management
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team: RNs, Patient Care Techs, MDs, Rehabilitation Therapies, Child Life, Social Work, Case Management, and Education Specialists
• Float to other pediatric units as needed to support patient care across the hospital
• Complete 2–3 days of orientation and specialty competency testing prior to assignment
• Follow hospital dress code, safety, and compliance standards
• Document care accurately using EPIC EMR and manage medications with Pyxis
• Support patient schooling and family education for prolonged pediatric hospitalizations
