Job Requirements

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license required
  • Minimum 1 year of PICU or pediatric critical care nursing experience required
  • BLS certification required
  • PALS certification required
  • ACLS certification preferred
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-acuity pediatric intensive care setting
  • Strong teamwork, communication, adaptability, and critical thinking skills

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality pediatric critical care nursing to patients in the PICU
  • Monitor and manage children with complex medical and surgical conditions
  • Support care for pediatric patients recovering from thoracic, general surgery, orthopedic, and neurosurgical procedures
  • Assist with procedures such as chest tube management and lumbar punctures as appropriate
  • Care for seizure patients and provide ongoing assessment, intervention, and documentation
  • Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure safe, coordinated care
  • Maintain accurate charting in the Meditech EMR system and follow unit policies and standards
  • Contribute to a positive, supportive team environment where nurses help one another succeed
