Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license required
- Minimum 1 year of PICU or pediatric critical care nursing experience required
- BLS certification required
- PALS certification required
- ACLS certification preferred
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-acuity pediatric intensive care setting
- Strong teamwork, communication, adaptability, and critical thinking skills
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality pediatric critical care nursing to patients in the PICU
- Monitor and manage children with complex medical and surgical conditions
- Support care for pediatric patients recovering from thoracic, general surgery, orthopedic, and neurosurgical procedures
- Assist with procedures such as chest tube management and lumbar punctures as appropriate
- Care for seizure patients and provide ongoing assessment, intervention, and documentation
- Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure safe, coordinated care
- Maintain accurate charting in the Meditech EMR system and follow unit policies and standards
- Contribute to a positive, supportive team environment where nurses help one another succeed
