Travel PICU Registered Nurse (RN) – CVPICU/PCICU Night Shift Contract | Charleston, SC (29401)
Experienced PICU Registered Nurse (RN) needed for a high-acuity Pediatric Cardiac ICU (CVPICU/PCICU) travel nursing contract at a hospital in Charleston, South Carolina. Provide specialized critical care for children with congenital heart disease and post-cardiac surgery needs with advanced therapies including ECMO, CRRT, and VAD care.

- Hours per Week: 36
- Shift: 12-hour nights
- Schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
- Weekend Requirement: 4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule (holiday rotation)
- Patient Ratios: 1:1 or 1:2 based on acuity
- Charting System: Epic EMR
- Float: May float within scope to NICU, PICU, and Pediatric Stepdown as needed
- Estimated Weekly Pay Range: $2,020 – $2,130
Registered Nurse (RN) Requirements
- Experience: 2+ years of Pediatric Cardiac ICU (CVPICU/PCICU) RN experience
- License: Active South Carolina RN license or compact/multistate RN license
- Certifications (AHA required): BLS and PALS
- Preferred Certification (AHA): ACLS
- Preferred Experience: VAD experience (training required upon arrival)
- Key Clinical Skills: Hemodynamic monitoring, post-cardiac surgery care, ventilator management, vasoactive drips, chest tube management, central line care, continuous sedation, CRRT exposure
PICU/CVPICU RN Responsibilities
- Deliver high-acuity bedside nursing care for pediatric patients with congenital heart disease and complex cardiac conditions in the CVPICU/PCICU
- Manage post-operative cardiac surgery patients, including close monitoring, titration of vasoactive medications, and rapid response to changes in condition
- Support advanced therapies and equipment such as ECMO, CRRT, and VADs in collaboration with the multidisciplinary critical care team
- Complete and document comprehensive assessments, interventions, and outcomes using Epic
- Partner with respiratory therapy, pharmacy, and other support services to provide coordinated pediatric critical care
- Maintain safe practice standards, infection prevention measures, and unit protocols while floating within scope as needed
