Psychiatric Registered Nurse (RN) - 13-week travel contract in Holyoke, MA. Work as a behavioral health nurse on 12-hour nights (7:00 PM–7:00 AM) and provide inpatient psychiatric care across adult, pediatric, and geriatric units.

Required Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice (state licensure required)
- BLS certification from AHA
- Minimum 1 year of experience in an inpatient psychiatric or behavioral health setting
- Graduated from an accredited BSN, ADN, or Nursing Diploma program
- Willingness to work with adult, pediatric, and geriatric populations
- Ability to float between adult, pediatric, and geriatric units as needed
- ACLS certification preferred (beneficial for higher acuity patients)
Key Responsibilities — Psychiatric / Behavioral Health RN
- Provide direct and indirect patient care using the nursing process: assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation
- Develop individualized nursing care plans in coordination with patients, families, and interdisciplinary behavioral health team
- Monitor and communicate changes in patients' clinical status to physicians, nursing supervisors/managers, and co-workers
- Participate in discharge planning and transitions of care for psychiatric patients
- Care for patients with diagnoses such as schizophrenia, depression, bipolar disorder, substance use disorder, and anxiety
- Maintain typical patient ratios (usually 1:8; lower ratios for geriatric and pediatric units)
- Follow facility policies and adhere to dress code (blue scrubs)
Skills & Competencies
- Strong clinical assessment and de-escalation skills for inpatient psychiatric care
- Experience with Cerner EHR and accurate clinical documentation
- Team-oriented communication with interdisciplinary behavioral health staff
- Flexibility to float across units and handle variable acuity
