Psychiatric Registered Nurse (RN) – Behavioral Health | Travel Nurse – Holyoke, MA
Psychiatric RN – Travel Nurse in Holyoke, MA: 13-week behavioral health contract at Valley Springs Behavioral Health Hospital. Join a dedicated behavioral health team and provide inpatient psychiatric nursing care across adult, pediatric, and geriatric units in Western Massachusetts.

- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,800 – $1,890
- Location: Holyoke, MA 01040 (Holyoke, Western Massachusetts)
- Role: Psychiatric Registered Nurse (RN), Behavioral Health / Mental Health Nurse, Travel Nurse
- Setting: Inpatient Behavioral Health Division (104 beds across five units)
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks (May 4, 2026 – August 3, 2026)
- Shift: 12-hour days (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM), 36 hours/week
- Schedule: Every other weekend required; no block schedule
- Float Requirements: Yes — adult, pediatric, and geriatric behavioral health units
- Electronic Health Record: Cerner (Cerner EHR experience preferred)
- Dress Code: Blue scrubs
Job Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of experience in an inpatient psychiatric setting (inpatient psychiatric nurse or behavioral health RN)
- Current RN license in the state of Massachusetts
- BLS certification required
- ACLS certification preferred
- Graduation from an accredited BSN, ADN, or Nursing Diploma program
- Comfortable and willing to care for adult, pediatric, and geriatric psychiatric populations
Responsibilities
- Provide direct and indirect patient care using the nursing process: assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation
- Develop and update individualized nursing care plans in coordination with patients, families, and interdisciplinary behavioral health staff
- Monitor and report changes in patient clinical condition to physicians, supervisors, and co-workers
- Participate in discharge planning and transitions of care for psychiatric patients
- Float across units as needed to support patient care and unit staffing
- Care for patients with diagnoses including schizophrenia, depression, bipolar disorder, substance use disorder, and anxiety (mental health nurse experience preferred)
