Job Requirements
- Board Certified – required
- Active Iowa Nurse Practitioner license – required
- Minimum 1 year of psychiatry, behavioral health, or mental health experience required
- No new graduates
- Experience working with inpatient psychiatric populations preferred
- Ability to manage consults, rounds, and ongoing psychiatric care
- Comfort working in a collaborative, supervised team environment
Responsibilities
- Perform admission histories and psychiatric assessments
- Conduct physical exams and daily rounds for inpatient behavioral health patients
- Order and interpret diagnostic studies
- Prescribe medications and manage ongoing treatment plans
- Coordinate care in collaboration with the psychiatrist, physicians, and care team
- Provide addiction education and behavioral health management
- Complete administrative and coordination-of-care duties as needed
- Support care for adults and adolescents in an inpatient psychiatric setting
