Radiologic Technologist (X-Ray Tech) – Travel Contract in Portland, Oregon

Join a collaborative diagnostic imaging team as a Radiologic Technologist on a 13-week travel assignment in Portland, Oregon. This on-site travel healthcare job is ideal for an experienced X-Ray Technologist who is confident performing diagnostic radiography across acute care, emergency, inpatient, outpatient, operating room, ICU, and critical care settings. Travel Radiology Job Details

  • Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,660–$1,780
  • Assignment Length: 13 weeks
  • Start Date: November 2, 2026
  • Shift: 12-hour day shift, 7:30 a.m.–8:00 p.m.
  • Schedule: 3 shifts per week, Wednesday–Friday; block scheduling
  • Hours: 36 hours per week
  • Call: Approximately 3 call shifts per month
  • Weekends: Not regularly required
  • Healthcare Setting: Large short-term acute care teaching hospital with a high-volume diagnostic imaging environment
  • Charting System: Epic
  • Patient Population: Neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
  • Additional Information: Occasional floating to nearby affiliated facilities may be required

Radiologic Technologist Job Requirements

  • At least 1 year of recent Radiologic Technologist or X-Ray Technologist experience
  • Active Oregon radiologic technologist license; compact license must be in hand when applicable
  • ARRT(R) certification
  • Current BLS certification
  • Current fluoroscopy permit or authorization, as required
  • Proficiency with radiation safety, infection prevention, isolation precautions, and personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Experience with PACS and digital radiography; Carestream experience preferred
  • Strong adult and pediatric imaging skills, including chest, abdomen, spine, pelvis, musculoskeletal, upper and lower extremity, and trauma studies
  • Experience with portable and bedside imaging, operating room procedures, C-arm procedures, and contrast media preparation or administration
  • Ability to perform safely and effectively in emergency, ICU, NICU, operating room, outpatient, and acute care environments
  • Two professional references covering at least one year of experience within the past three years

Radiology Technologist Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic X-ray examinations for patients across the lifespan while maintaining patient comfort, privacy, and safety
  • Complete routine, portable, trauma, and specialty radiography studies involving the chest, abdomen, spine, pelvis, head, and extremities
  • Support surgical and procedural teams with C-arm and other operating room imaging
  • Perform or assist with fluoroscopy studies and contrast-enhanced examinations within scope and credentialing
  • Provide diagnostic imaging services in emergency, inpatient, outpatient, ICU, NICU, pediatric, and acute care settings
  • Accurately position patients, select appropriate technical factors, and evaluate images for diagnostic quality
  • Follow radiation protection standards and infection prevention procedures for every examination
  • Document procedures and results accurately in Epic and PACS
  • Collaborate with radiologists, nurses, providers, and other members of the healthcare team
  • Participate in scheduled call coverage and remain flexible to support changing departmental needs
