- Assignment Length: 13 weeks
- Shifts per Week: 3
- Shift Duration: 12-hour nights
- Hours per Week: 36
- Start Date: March 30, 2026
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,980 – $2,300 (competitive travel nursing pay)
Job Requirements / Qualifications
- Active RN license (Pennsylvania RN or active RN compact license)
- Minimum 1 year of recent Labor & Delivery nursing experience (L&D nurse, obstetric care)
- BLS (AHA) required; NRP preferred
- Experience with fetal monitoring (EFM), maternal assessment, and newborn initial assessment
- Ability to work 12-hour night shifts and function effectively in a fast-paced L&D unit
- Strong communication, teamwork, and patient education skills
Responsibilities – Labor & Delivery RN
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to laboring mothers and newborns throughout labor, delivery, and recovery
- Continuously monitor maternal and fetal well-being using electronic fetal monitoring (EFM) and respond promptly to changes in condition
- Administer medications, manage pain relief measures, and assist with epidural management as indicated
- Support normal vaginal deliveries and assist the interdisciplinary team (physicians, midwives, neonatal providers) during high-risk deliveries
- Perform postpartum care, newborn initial assessments, and support early bonding and breastfeeding education
- Participate in newborn resuscitation when required (NRP) and maintain accurate, timely documentation to uphold patient safety and quality standards
- Educate and support patients and families through the childbirth process, discharge planning, and postpartum follow-up
