• Schedule: 3 shifts per week
• Shift Duration: 12 Hour Days
• Hours per Week: 36
• Weekend/Holiday Requirement: Every third weekend and every other holiday
• Patient Population: Adults ages 18+
• Unit Size: 21 beds
• Average Length of Stay: 4-5 days
• Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: Typically 1:5, may flex to 1:6 based on unit needs

Job Requirements

• At least 1 year of RN experience required; 2 years of psychiatric nursing experience preferred
• Current Registered Nurse license in good standing
• BLS certification required
• CPI preferred and must be obtained within 90 days of starting if not already held
• Experience caring for adult behavioral health patients in an inpatient setting preferred
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented healthcare environment
• Strong communication, de-escalation, and patient assessment skills

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to adult patients in an inpatient psychiatric unit
• Assess, monitor, and document patient status, behaviors, and response to treatment
• Support patients with conditions such as major depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, and acute psychosis
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement individualized care plans
• Maintain a safe, therapeutic environment for patients and staff
• Administer medications and treatments in accordance with provider orders and facility protocols
• Use therapeutic communication and crisis intervention techniques to support patient stabilization
• Participate in discharge planning and patient education as appropriate
