Job Description

Orthopedic Spine Surgeon

Tri-State Region (New Jersey / Connecticut / New York)
Are you a high-performing spine surgeon looking for more than just another employed position?

We are partnering with a rapidly growing surgical platform that is building one of the most innovative orthopedic and spine programs in the Northeast. This is a rare opportunity to help shape a spine center of excellence from the ground up while enjoying the support, resources, and patient access of an established healthcare organization.

This role is ideal for an entrepreneurial surgeon who wants the autonomy to practice at a high level, participate in program development, and be rewarded for productivity and outcomes.

Why This Opportunity Stands Out

Most spine surgeons must choose between academic medicine, hospital employment, or private practice. This opportunity combines the best aspects of all three:
  • Clinical autonomy with physician-led decision making
  • Dedicated ambulatory surgery center access
  • Strong patient demand and built-in referral networks
  • Established employer-contract and bundled-care programs
  • Significant earning potential tied directly to your productivity
  • Leadership opportunities, including Spine Director responsibilities
  • Research, outcomes tracking, and program-building opportunities
You won’t be joining an organization that is still figuring things out. The infrastructure, payer contracts, marketing engine, surgery centers, and operational support are already in place.

The Opportunity

You will play a key role in building and growing an expanding spine program throughout the tri-state region.

You will:
  • Perform a broad range of spine procedures including minimally invasive and complex spine surgery
  • Help develop clinical protocols and quality initiatives
  • Participate in outcomes research and program development
  • Work closely with orthopedic, pain management, and rehabilitation specialists
  • Help expand outpatient spine surgery capabilities
  • Serve as a clinical leader within a growing orthopedic platform
This position offers the opportunity to focus on patient care and surgery while experienced operational teams handle billing, contracting, marketing, recruiting, scheduling, and administrative support.

Ideal Candidate

We are seeking surgeons who are clinically excellent and excited about building something meaningful.
Preferred candidates will have:
  • Fellowship training in Spine Surgery
  • Board Certification or Board Eligibility
  • Experience performing a broad spectrum of spine procedures
  • Comfort practicing in an ASC environment
  • Interest in minimally invasive techniques and outpatient spine surgery
  • A collaborative, team-oriented mindset
  • An entrepreneurial approach to growth and innovation
Candidates with academic accomplishments, research experience, publications, leadership experience, or program-building backgrounds are strongly encouraged to apply.

Compensation & Benefits

  • $700,000 base plus a highly generous bonus incentive plan
  • Additional Spine Director stipend
  • Productivity-based incentive plan with substantial upside
  • Participation in collections generated through both professional and ASC-related revenue streams
  • Signing and relocation assistance
  • Recruitment incentives
  • Comprehensive family medical benefits
  • Occurrence-based malpractice coverage
  • 401(k) with employer match
  • Five weeks PTO
  • Annual CME and professional development allowance
