Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,020-$2,130
- Setting: Acute care telemetry unit
- Schedule: 12-hour night shifts
- Hours: 36 hours per week
- Shift Pattern: Nights with weekends as scheduled
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks
- Charting System: Epic
- Orientation: Computer training, floor shadowing, then independent practice with support
- Location: Parkersburg, West Virginia
Job Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license
- At least 1 year of recent telemetry nursing or acute care nursing experience
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Ability to confidently read telemetry strips and recognize cardiac rhythm changes
- Experience managing cardiac and medical-surgical patients preferred
- Comfort titrating Heparin and supporting common cardiac drips
- Ability to work collaboratively in a high-volume, team-based healthcare setting
- Strong communication skills and a patient-focused mindset
Responsibilities
- Provide safe, compassionate care to telemetry patients with cardiac and medical diagnoses
- Monitor cardiac rhythms and interpret telemetry strips accurately
- Assess patients, document findings, and promptly communicate changes in condition
- Administer medications and titrate Heparin as ordered
- Support patients recovering from cardiac procedures and those with CHF, COPD, and arrhythmias
- Manage admissions, discharges, and ongoing patient care in a fast-paced acute care environment
- Collaborate with charge nurses, monitor technicians, and the care team to support unit flow
- Float within skillset as needed to support patient care across approved areas
