Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) needed for a 13-week acute-care travel nursing assignment in Kankakee, Illinois, providing cardiac and complex medical care on 12-hour day shifts.

- Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
- Shift: 12-hour day shifts, approximately 5:00 a.m.–5:30 p.m.
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Holiday Requirement: Every other holiday
- Call Requirement: None
- Charting System: EPIC
- Dress Code: Caribbean-colored scrubs
Telemetry RN Job Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois, in hand at the time of submission
- At least 1 year of acute-care nursing experience, preferably in telemetry or medical-surgical telemetry
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Recent experience with EPIC electronic health record documentation
- Experience with radial band and femoral catheterization recoveries
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to care for telemetry-level patients and float to medical or step-down units as needed
Telemetry Registered Nurse Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care for patients with CHF, stroke, chest pain, diabetes, pneumonia, COPD, detox-related conditions, and other cardiac or complex medical diagnoses
- Continuously assess patients, recognize changes in condition, and initiate appropriate nursing interventions
- Interpret cardiac rhythms and collaborate with centralized telemetry monitoring staff
- Care for patients recovering from cardiac catheterization procedures, including radial band and femoral access recovery
- Administer and monitor prescribed therapies, including Lasix, heparin, Bumex, Protonix, and octreotide infusions or set-rate medications
- Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation in EPIC
- Coordinate care with providers, nursing assistants, respiratory therapists, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team
- Provide safe, individualized patient care while maintaining a typical nurse-to-patient ratio of approximately 1:5–6
- Float to medical floors or step-down areas to care for patients at the telemetry level when needed
