Job Requirements / Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant program
• Active Physician Assistant (PA) license in Montana or eligibility for Montana licensure
• Minimum 1 year clinical experience as a Physician Assistant; urgent care or emergency medicine experience preferred
• Ability to work evening shifts, including nights and weekends as needed
• Strong clinical assessment, triage, and patient-management skills
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with physicians, nurses, and ancillary staff
• English proficiency (read, write, speak)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association preferred

Responsibilities

• Independently provide high-quality, compassionate urgent care to patients in a hospital-based setting
• Obtain thorough patient histories, perform focused physical exams, and review prior records and ancillary data
• Develop, implement, and monitor evidence-based treatment and disposition plans
• Triage and manage acute illnesses and injuries typical of urgent care, including wound care, splinting, and basic procedures as appropriate
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary care team
• Document care accurately and in accordance with regulatory, hospital, and billing guidelines
• Collaborate with supervising physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure safe, coordinated care
• Educate and counsel patients and families about diagnoses, treatment plans, and discharge instructions
• May float to other departments as needed and participate in on-call rotations
