Job Details

  • Location: Silverdale, WA 98383 (Kitsap County, Puget Sound, Pacific Northwest)
  • Role: Locum Tenens Urologist / Locum Tenens Urology Physician
  • Setting: Clinic plus hospital call coverage (outpatient urology and inpatient consults)
  • Start Date: March 30, 2026 (minimum 3-month commitment)
  • Duration: 13 weeks, with potential to extend
  • Shift: Clinic (8a-4p), Night call (5p-8a), and 24-hour call (7a-7a, 1:6 rotation)
  • Hours per Week: 40
  • Patient Volume: 20-25 patients per day in clinic; 20-30 surgeries per month (general and surgical urology)
  • Call: 5-6 days per month (including weekends as scheduled)
  • EMR: Epic (documentation and order entry)
  • Support Staff: 2 RNs, Medical Assistant (MA), Surgery Scheduler, and 2 front office staff

Qualifications / Job Requirements

  • Board Certified or Board Eligible Urologist (within 5 years of residency completion)
  • Active Washington medical license or participation in IMLC (LOQ required at time of submission)
  • Active DEA and BLS required; ACLS preferred (can be obtained if selected)
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in general urology practice; experience with surgical urology and common procedures preferred
  • Comfort managing outpatient urology clinics, hospital consults, ED returns, and perioperative patients as the sole on-site urology provider
  • Clean malpractice history strongly preferred; NPDB Self-Query required
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and patient-centered care skills for collaboration with hospitalists and support teams
  • Ability to cover ~80% of scheduled dates; provide blackout dates at application

Clinical Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive general urology care in clinic and on call (outpatient urology, inpatient consults, ED urology cases)
  • Perform urologic procedures including cystoscopy, vasectomies, prostate biopsy, TURP, uroflow/cuff, bladder scans, ureteroscopy, ESWL, Botox injections, and select open cases (nephrectomy, cystectomy) as indicated
  • Support and utilize robotic-assisted technology when needed (robotic procedures not required)
  • Manage pre-op and post-op care, inpatient rounding, and coordination with OR and anesthesia teams
  • Maintain accurate, timely documentation in Epic EMR and follow credentialing/orientation requirements
  • Collaborate with nursing, MA staff, surgery schedulers, and hospitalist teams to ensure smooth patient flow and quality care
